Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center was the first environmental learning center in the nation to be accredited as a K-12 school and is recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in environmental education. Each year, more than 18,000 participants travel to our 2,000-acre facility.
Wolf Ridge is a place where minds open to the joy and wonder of discovery of our natural world. We seek to stimulate a love and understanding of nature by involving children and adults in direct observation of and participation on the outdoors and promote self-awareness and leadership development in the process.
We believe and demonstrate that...
Everyone is part of the camp community
We create an environment that provides an avenue for campers to make lasting friendships and gain an understanding of other points of view. We emphasize the importance of each camper’s role within the larger camp community, and of his or her responsibility to its members.
Individuals thrive and grow
Our programs are designed to encourage campers to learn more about themselves, their abilities, and their potential. We enhance a positive sense of self through personal discovery. We provide confidence-building opportunities to develop new skills, embrace challenges, and experience new adventures in the outdoors.
Respect is evident
We teach children to respect not only each other and themselves, but also the earth and all living things through fostering awareness, curiosity and sensitivity to the natural world. We also help campers develop a sense of conservation and environmental stewardship.
Campers and families feel safe
We are committed to ensuring a positive and safe camping experience for each child who walks the paths of Wolf Ridge. All staff receive emergency training and are certified in First Aid, CPR and Lifeguarding/Wilderness Water Safety.
